Riken Electric Co. Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers of protection and controlling equipments for electrical application and electricity systems in Taiwan.

Riken was established in 1950. In the past 5 decades, we devoted ourselves to manufacturing high-quality products to the local and international markets. Riken is an ISO-9001:2000 Quality Management System approved company and the products are also approved by UL, CSA, VDE CNS and CE.

We believe in the business concept of "Participation " " Creativity " and " Honesty ". Riken has been operated with this business concept ever since it was established, and will keep providing our customers with quality products and services.

1950	Established with initial capital of NT $5000, manufactured small types of electrical magnetic starters and provided electrical equipment repairing service.
1967	Restructured to Riken Electric Co., produced magnetic contactors and starters, overload relays, floatless water level control panels, star-delta starters, and customized control panels/PCB.
1975	Formally restructured to Riken Electric Co,. Ltd.
1976	Moved to current location in Chung-Ho City, where has 6,500 M². In the same year established the "International" Trading Department”.
1977	Classified as "First Grade of Quality Control" from Ministry of Economic Affairs
1978	Awarded the "Certificate of CNS" No.2740 from the National Bureau of Standard of Ministry of Economic Affairs.
1980	Introduced computing system to business operation and became the first computerized company in the industry in Taiwan. In the same year introduced automated production line from Germany, and became the first company in the industry in Taiwan to use automation process to manufacture contacts.
1981	Developed the first 2E overload and phase failure relay for motors in Taiwan.
1984	Developed miniature circuit breakers and awarded "Certificate of CNS" No.2931.
1985	Launched new T series magnetic starters.
1986	Gained UL and CSA approvals.
1987	Successfully developed inverters.
1991	Developed mini type inverters.
1992	New office building Completed.
1993	Gained ISO 9002 Certificate issued by BSMI Ministry of Economic Affairs for Design.
1994	Set up the new factory in Shanghai China to produce Magnetic Contactors, Magnetic Starters, and Switchboard to fulfill the market demands of Mainland China.
1995	Cooperated with PAYNE of USA as the sole distributor for PAYNE's soft starters and other associated products.
1999	Started to cooperate with ABB Automation as the distributor for ABB Comp AC series inverters in Taiwan.
2003	Upgrade ISO 9002 to ISO 9001:2000/CNS 12681 Certificate issued by BSMI Ministry of Economic Affairs for Design, Production, and Services of: Magnetic Starters, Contactors, Overload Relays, MCB, MCCB, Floatless.
